En un ambiente cargado de algarabía, pasión y tribunas teñidas de rojo y celeste, el Sports Illustrated Stadium fue escenario de una nueva edición del Derbi de Nueva York, donde el NY Red Bulls y NYCFC igualaron 1-1 en un intenso encuentro correspondiente a la MLS.

Ambos equipos llegaban motivados por su recuperación futbolística y por los resultados positivos obtenidos en las últimas jornadas, algo que terminó reflejándose en un partido dinámico, disputado y lleno de emociones que no decepcionó a sus respectivas hinchadas.

New York Derby Ends Level After a Night of Intensity, Passion and Missed Chances

In an atmosphere filled with energy, passion and stands covered in red and sky blue, Sports Illustrated Stadium hosted another intense edition of the New York Derby, as the New York Red Bulls and NYCFC battled to a 1-1 draw in MLS action.

Both teams entered the match with renewed confidence after recent positive results, and the game quickly reflected that momentum. It was a fast-paced, emotional and highly competitive derby that gave both fan bases plenty to celebrate, even if neither side could claim the full three points.

The Red Bulls came out with urgency from the opening whistle, pressing high across the field and forcing NYCFC into uncomfortable moments. Their intensity shaped much of the first half, but the breakthrough did not arrive until the final minutes before halftime, when Jorge Ruvalcaba put the home side ahead. The goal came shortly after NYCFC suffered a setback with the injury of Maxi Fernández, a moment that briefly disrupted the visitors’ rhythm.

The second half told a different story. NYCFC returned from the break with more control, more confidence and more danger in the attacking third. The Red Bulls appeared to lose the energy that had carried them through the first half, while the visitors began to dominate possession and create clearer chances.

That pressure paid off in the 52nd minute, when midfielder Andrés Perea, who had entered in place of M. Morales, scored with a header to bring NYCFC level.
